Sounds good Shane. My concern is, if it ends up being 50 and raining all next weekend, then not really sure I'm into that. Years back when we had more of our gang going, it made it easier to just hang around the cabin. DP cooking up some bear meat and or fish made it work. Not to mention Bob's cannon echoing down the valley. It's just not the same. I'm getting too wise to ski in the cold rain. We'll see. Besides, it looks like this event is no longer 'boysweekend', which is fine...... Just not the same.

Just checked the extended forecast, and it's now looking like it could be a sunny awesome spring ski fest.... The whole fkn weekend! Jon may even want to go. I'll see if he and DP are up for it. I know if the forecast holds true, I'll be stoked.

Now that's the spirit of boysweekend! It's going to be fantastic spring like conditions with lots of sunshine, warm temperatures, and cold beer. And the snow base is so extensive that it is not going anywhere soon.

I skinned up Lower Turnpike to the top of Wilderness last night. I came down through the woods on skiers right. It was icy,and fast, but well covered. I'm skiing down into Cotton Brook this morning. The only places I've encountered sketchy conditions is at the apex of the real steep pitches. All in all though it's epic and that sunshine is gonna feel good today.

So The BM trail was still in good shape. A few more open stream crossings but nothing we have not seen before. WE found the parking lot full. Billy Romps crew occupied both cabins to the tune of 40 people. We ran in to Billy on the ski out. He took his grand kids again. Had we gone this past weekend  people would have been sleeping outside.

Its been snowing in Hinesburg this morning. I bet that glade got a few inches this morning. The snow might be deeper this weekend.

Billy Rump is rude. That's pretty fked up to take over both cabins. It's a damn good thing we didn't go this past weekend..... I would of given it to Billy. He would of been busy building snow caves after I was done with him.

I'm bringing a tent, so I'm good. The problem with more folks finding out about the meadow, and all it has to offer is that it is no longer "ours". Oh well it was a good run. I'm going to enjoy the sun, snow, guitar, and some good eats..... So no matter the crowd, I will be happy.

Bob, just curious..... What's the head count for those staying at Burling this weekend? What I mean is, how many did you invite?

On a side note, a friend of mine joined a gym the other day. As he was working out, he noticed a lot of really nice looking women around him, so he went up to the trainer and asked him; " What machine should I use to impress the ladies".? Without missing a beat the trainer replied; " how about the ATM ".

Joe I am not sure about the newbie count. Stan did more inviting. Julie and some of her friends maybe 4-5. This weather could turn some away. You know how it goes. We don't really know till people actually arrive. The cabin had 20 last weekend. We will be nowhere near that.

I heard rumors that the Troy contingency may be a no show. they might opt for Jay Peak. Mind you only a rumor at this point. I think Julie is still planning on coming Saturday. Honestly though, the popularity of backcountry skiing and outdoor winter sports in general has brought more people to the area. As for the people Bob and I invited... can't see that head count being more than 5 at best. And they all like to do the same things we do, except drink lite beer and YooHoo!

I am not to worried it looks like it might snow again up there before the weekend. I am heading up early Friday. I just put runners on my sled. BWE has always been about who shows up. I bet the classic glade is still going to ski well on Saturday. Slop on top of a hard base. If I ski on Sunday it will be four weekends in a row.

I just installed plastic runners on my sled thinking it will help with tracking. They should also help with wear. I am thinking now I should also install though axles too so I can add wheels ?

Well Boys Joe is a no show this year. I decided because of the crowd alert by Bob, and the fact this year is more of a couples weekend then an actual boys weekend, that in my best interest I'll hang with my awesome grandson today, and ski Sugarbush with my hiking partner (Tom), tomorrow. You guys have an awesome weekend, and don't get hurt, keep the wrestling matches to a minimum Bob and Stan. I now have missed my first boysweekend........It was my turn.

Next year Jon and I are going to find a cabin (that we drive to), near a ski area, and all of us boys will once again unite for a weekend of misadventures.

No worries Joe, it was a typical weekend with just three. Very nice up there although the sledding was grueling. The trail was mostly ice and there were many open streams. I pulled close to 100 pounds up there. We did a tour on Saturday and found a great new glade. Its over more to the left from the one we have been hitting. Its huge open and a little lower angle. We were able to have a fire outside each night to cook on. Didnt see anyone up there all weekend. ITs funny but skis and skins were probably the best thing to have in those conditions. Hiking boots on Ice would have sucked. The ski skin combo works really well. We were crossing streams dragging our sleds with our skis on. Right through the mud. NObody even fell on the ski out.
