careful, the ford V8s of that era had major problems with the spark plugs not staying in the cylinders.

Good input Eric, I never owned a Ford but it seems the early Tritons had too few threads for the spark plugs in their Aluminum Heads. Ford is just like GM in that they will not take responsibility for errors in engineering. I like my Dodge Van. Its tried and true cast iron. The motors last forever if you keep oil in them. It seems like using a spark plug with a steel thread in and Aluminum head is a prescription for pain.

These can be problematic but this one looks NotRusty. With 58K miles and a cheap price you could probably weather a couple repairs.

Now here's one for ya Bob. A bit pricey, and the color scheme a tad ugly, but would do the trick keeping the 'boss' content.

We test drove one like that. I didn't like it. It has a shower, a toilet and a bunch of Built ins. Its just for camping and really can't be a utility Van. This one is silly, see the awning on the side with no door? Just try and tie a canoe or a kayak on the roof.  A hitch mounted bike rack would block the rear door. Its a poorly thought out overly complicated rig that gets 10mpg. Its good for sitting inside baking cookies connected to land power watching TV. Sucks for everything else and they cost a lot.

That is in the ball park. 2200 bucks is cheap. Turn the key and go camping or pull a trailer or haul some junk. The pushed up roof is not my favorite. Hard to fit a rack for hauling boats. I love the way people put ads up. No info really. Trailer hitch? engine, chassis size 3/4 or 1/2 ton? No phone number? Really??

Yeah.....Jon needs more to work on. He should get something that is turn-key. Keep looking, you're getting warm.

I talked to the owner of that van. He just drove it 1500 miles and fixed a few minor things. He say its dead reliable with a little over 100K miles. Its got no rust and came from California. Its also fuel injected which is a good thing.

You can turn the key and roll to where ever.

Too much stuff on it. I just want a body like that with nothing inside. A bed and a battery.  I hate all the plumbing, AC and the Generator. Too much crap to work on.  I bet it leaks and need all kinds of work from just sitting. Mice have lived in that thing I bet.

Its too tall for my lift too

Now that I work for UVM, every once in a while insider deals come up. They are retiring some of the fleet and I believe only employees can bid. I honestly wouldn't wish these vehicles on anyone. I'm going to low ball bid on a 97 Subie Outback Legacy and a 01 Dodge Ram Van 3500 Passenger Van. This thing is cool in a Bob kind of way. Big V8, rear air and the longest one they make. Might I add that it also has a step and tow bumper. I'm sure Bob will have some kind of negative comment and I am looking forward to his criticism.

Thanks Stan. I needed a chuckle. I've owned a couple of older full size vans, and  they are needy. Bob likes to fix things, so bid on something for him.
