Erik, it's the purple interior...... And the cat piss smell, along with the cig butts all over the floor, add to that, the fact somebody drank too many (1) heady-toppers and threw-up all over the carpet in the back. Of course it doesn't help that used condoms are hidden underneath the seats.

Here you go Joe this is a way better deal. For only 1000 dollars this Van could be yours. It even appears to have Saab front Wheels!

Classic!

I know this isn't a van, but look at this thing  http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/rally-fighter-became-one-city-family-daily-driver-155919243.html?cache=clear

Cool car but you couldn't park that thing anywhere without having it burglarized or stolen. I'd  rather drive around with that van with the Saab wheels. People would try to avoid that thing.

1500 bucks for this rig and no self respecting thieve would come near it. Drive it and then just walk away from it when you are done your trip. Leave the keys in it. It would probably sit in a parking lot for a year and not be stolen.

Bob, I saw that, and thought of you, not bad. Certainly roomy enough, and it's a dodge.

This one is very cool looking. Its a big one but I bet it gets like 8-9 mpg if you are smooth. They don't say much about its mechanicals, my guess is its a 440 V8 dodge chassis. Its huge inside with a stand up shower and separate toilette.  It would cost  about 1500 more in gas to drive this rig to Alaska a back then my current Dodge van, 3500 for the 3/4 ton van, 5000 for this big box. Seems like a lot of space to occupy for 6 weeks. Its about 10000 miles so there you have it. This rig is only 4000 bucks. You could do a fun trip for 15K dollars and that would include a major repair if you were lucky.

I can see a line of cars waiting for a place to pass "the beast" as it lumbers down the road.

My Plan is to drive on all back roads out and back. No Interstates period! We will use Google Maps to take a slow ride out across Canada. Hug the Northern shoes of the great lakes. The go North West and pick up the Alaska Highway up high. Come back along the boarder and visit as many parks as possible Glacier, Yellow Stone, Tetons.  We will need a good reliable Dodge Chassis so it can be fixed anywhere it breaks. My wife Keeps finding road Treks and the Like for 15K dollars. They are nice but I keep thinking I can score a low mileage bigger unit for way less money. Have it gone through Engine and drive line and then use it for 10K miles. IT would be cheaper in the big rig then the smaller  one even with the increase in gas costs. This unit has 19K miles on it, been for sale for a month too. They want 5500 but I bet would sell for 3500.

Looks clean, inside and out. I can see you lying on the couch, drinking down a local brew, tired out by all the driving. It does make sense having a motel suite for a long trip.

Stan is in Chore Boy mode. He is knocking off chores faster then Bob avoids them. I am out at 6:45am going to Millstone in Graniteville for a ride. Shane and Randy in attendance. Back by Lunch and then camping somewhere and I don't even know where.

I did mow the lawn after work. I gave it a crew cut!

I knocked off two windows and then partied with the neighbors and worked on my tan to boot! I will ride tomorrow rain or shine. Not to mention climbing up and down scaffolding 75 times or so.

perfect yard

perfect meal

perfect windows

perfect haircut

perfect tan

So forget about it Bob. Go to Alaska, and go where they really don't care.

We went Crash camping at the Emily Proctor Trail head. There is free camping right on the banks of the New Haven river. We rolled in and set up camp with a two Van Caravan. Build a fire and cooked dinner on it. We also Drank beer til dark. We had four dogs with us too. It was a perfect storm in terms of it could have been a Wet Bug infested doggie Mess but it worked. Not bugs to speak of and the Dogs were great. The lot was full with another Van and a few Tent camper cars. We dinned on Sweet potatoes, Roasted Mushrooms with Onions and a Rare Steak. Hmmmmm Good just thinking about it. Then we had French Toast and coffee for Bfast. We were rolling by 9:30 and Home by 10am.

Then we went and bought another Van. We bought a 1992 350 Dodge Ram Van with 71K miles on it. ITs got a bed in the back, wood like interior with a sink stove and very important Toilet. A 3 Way fridge and a Generator. No Shower but the Bathroom area does have a tub bottom so It looks like you could rig one. Class 3 trailer hitch new tires shocks and brakes. IT runs real nice with a 360 injected motor. A new house battery Two AC units and the Water Tank, Propane tank Grey water tank and Blackwater tank all underneath. Its got a crank out awning that poles to the Van so its really a one guy awning. We got it in Northfeild Falls from a cool old guy. He got the rig two years ago and then his eyes started failing so he can't drive. He worked 36 years cutting stone in Barre and he has all kinds of trophy's, Moose Deer and caribou antlers, stuffed fish and a BobCat he shot. Cool guy, I also bough a 1/2 ton utility trailer from him for a package price. You can't make this shit up.
